What challenges needed to be solved?
SDE Group were the main contractor on this project and were working in partnership with Toolstation.’ one of the UK’s largest suppliers of tools and building materials.
Several challenges were faced during the project: They included:
Turnaround
A short turnaround time to complete the contract.
Footfall
Navigating works in a busy location with a lot of footfall and activity from other units.
Health and Safety
Adhering to health and safety guidelines and getting the building into pristine condition.
RPMG were brought in to solve these challenges based on having an existing, long-term partnership with SDE.

What solutions were provided?
RPMG provided a range of solutions for solving the challenges and transforming the building into an exceptional condition.
We provided a number of safety system solutions, which included scaffolding and roof-mounted edge protection, a stair tower and safety netting for the underside of roof lights. This ensured the unit met rigorous health and safety legislation.
In addition, we provided mobile elevated working platforms, electric scissor lifts and HR12 Boom lifts to make it easy to access high places in the building. This enabled us to execute our specialist cleaning solutions which included Kingspan panel and roof cleaning.
Another key area where we provided value was maintenance. We removed all of the previous tenant’s signage and carried out Sharmans Seamsil cut edge corrosion treatment to improve the integrity of roof panels and remove corrosion.
We also provided a glaze treatment to roof lights to extend the life cycle and ensure the maximum amount of lighting could be let into the building.
